Co-operating with Jesus
And each other!
Jesus is our Living Lord! Our overall vision is to radically co-operate with Him and with each other in creating a New Testament pattern church.
Co-operating With Him …
If we are to formulate a vision statement for our church it will have to be in line with what God is actually saying to us by His Spirit. There have been many beautiful prophetic words given to Emmanuel Church over recent years. These have been recorded, and their essence is outlined below…
- Personal intimacy with God is key to all.
- God is renewing this local church.
- We are to co-operate with Him to fearlessly create a church that is based on a New Testament pattern.
- This will include a declaration of the written and prophetic word.
- We are to be a place of refuge and healing for all.
- As we embrace and rejoice in the salvation that Jesus has won for us on the cross, and as the power of God is released in signs and wonders, others will be drawn
- There will be persecutions
Co-operating With Each Other …
In 2010, we particularly want to co-operate with the changes He is making in our everyday church life. At present a structure is arising that illustrates the principle of "Unity within Diversity".
United Main Celebration
The Main Sunday Celebration is based on the New Testament pattern for Worship. This pattern is discernible in the early church and expressed in 1 Corinthians 12v14.
Diverse Small Groups
Our structure embodies the principle of "Unity within Diversity". Under His leading we have seen the growth of a variety of Small Groups to which an individual can belong. Depending on what you are especially interested in, each small group has its own special emphasis. So if your heart is in healing, bible study, fellowship, prayer, worship, discipleship, pastoral care, evangelism or Christian unity, there is a group for you!
We want to acknowledge that this is the work of God among us, for which we give thanks. We want to respond by consolidating this growth, in preparation for the plans God has for us in the future. We welcome all who share our vision to join us!
